| Hello all!
I know I've said I'd be updating soon...sorry for the delay. I've been so busy lately. To tell you the truth I haven't looked at this site for a while except to reply to a couple comments. Well! Here's the update! Hope you all are still coming here! Oh and please don't only look at the pictures...read what I'm saying too...please!
I got tons more stuff on eBay...not all on Gone with the Wind...mostly on Clark & or Viv. So the Look magazine that was expensive...very expensive. It wasn't worth what I paid for...I can tell you that right now but I would never sell it! It was a good magazine though...had candid pics and was very nice. Aren't you all lucky to have someone like me on here to tell you all about the magazines I paid lots for!! You can do the favor of giving lots of comments and visiting a lot. I don't want to see an entry with ADD COMMENTS on it. OKAY...the moment you've all been waiting for. PICTURES. And text from the magazine.
Scarlett Scoop--Page 8 Not since the scramble for the screen role of Scarlett O'Hara has there been so much competition in Hollywood as there was among the magazines for the first pictures of the "Gone with the Wind" cast. LOOK won. It gives you on the cover of this issue the first color pictures of Vivien Leigh as Scarlett and, inside, the first pictures of the players made up and busy on the set. How did we finagle the scoop? It was as simple as this: The producers (Selznick International) decided they'd LOOK to publish the first pictures, and gave us the beat. Among the people to whom this picture-story will be news is Margaret Mitchell, who wrote "Gone with the Wind." The pint-sized Atlantan says she isn't goin' to Hollywood and isn't even correspondin' about the makin' of the picture. Still too busy answerin' fan mail.

The descriptions of the second picture, if you cant make them out, is
just excerpts from the book Gone with the Wind. It shows Vivien Leigh
as Scarlett O'Hara and it says Scarlett's characteristics and same with
Clark as Rhett and so on. In the candid photo of Clark and Vivien
talking it says "In between scenes while making Gone with the Wind.
Miss Leigh-in real life Mrs. Leigh Holman, mother of a
5-year-old-daughter--holds up her trailing Civil War costume to keep it
from getting dustier than it already is. She is 5 feet, 3 inches tall.
The other excerpts of the other candids not featuring any of the main
characters like Clark or Viv or Olivia or Leslie aren't important but
if you want to know what they say please comment and ask! I'll reply
with all the excerpts of those other candids.
That's all that was in the magazine! It was fun to read and look at.
Hope you all get a thrill from it. Remember...if there's anything I
appreciate in the xanga world of this Gone with the Wind site...it's
comments!
Okay...on to the next magazine...Hollywood studio magazine. Not so very
much...was made in '85 so that explains why it's not a VALUABLE thing!
I bet you've seen this cover before though.

Yep, you probably have. I know I have before I saw it on eBay. If you
haven't...well you're seeing it now! Well, I don't feel like taking a bad quality picture of the excerpts ... even though it wouldn't be bad quality because I got a swell new great camera that always takes a clear picture. It's just what the cover says. Clark and Vivien: their Tragic Later Lives. It's just their lives. On thing I thought that was very interesting and I never knew was that it said in there that Vivien, when she was older, watched Gone with the Wind and she said the whole time she was crying because all those people had died. Clark, Leslie, and Hattie and all those people she had known and talked to.
Well, that's all for now. For now! I'll have more and better updates.

| First official new start update!
Well, today is Sir Laurence Olivier's birthday. He was born May 22nd 1907 and died 11th of July 1989. He'd be 99 today! Happy Birthday to Larry one of my favorite actors/people.
I made that graphic especially for today! Speaking of graphics I might start making some for people. I could do requests but it would take a while to do. I would only do something relating to old movies, Gone with the Wind, or classic movie actors. As a matter a fact I think I will do requests.
Rules for requesting:
-Provide the text (what you want to say on that header) -The pictures/picture you would want me to use -The colors/color you would like me to use
Okay, so if you provide that information I will take requests. Otherwise I'm sorry...I can't do it for you if you say like for example: Could you make me a Clark Gable header!? Thanks! --Yeah thanks for the thanks if you say thanks but I still wouldn't do it. However if you make that mistake when it's spelled out clearly for you here even then you can still correct your mistake and provide those things and I'll make it for you. Oh and by the way, I'm not the best graphic maker in the world so don't expect something MAGNIFICENT! Okay? Okay. Good.
This isn't really an update but it's a start. Since it's Larry's birthday naturally I would put in this update a picture of the handsome man and his wife, beautiful Vivien!

So requests anyone? | | |
| Hello everyone!
It has been quite a long while since I"ve updated. Very long indeed. I was almost just going to forget this site but now I want to keep it going again. To keep this site going it would help if I got comments!
First off I want this to be kind of a new start. I want to make this not only a tribute to Gone but a tribute to Clark Gable, Vivien Leigh, Leslie Howard, and Olivia de Havilland and all the rest of the actors whether they are minor or major, as well. Since it is a tribute to the movie and it's players then for Clark Gable I will not only post pictures of him and have discussions about him but post pictures of him and his wife Carole Lombard who was an actress as well who tragically died in a plane crash in 1942. I'm sure you've all heard something of her if you are interested in old Hollywood. Also for Vivien Leigh I'll post pictures and have discussions about her and her friends and her husband who was an actor - Laurence Olivier. And Olivia de Havilland and all dealing with her and Leslie Howard also and everyone who was in his life. So this is not only a tribute to Gone but of course the majority of my updates and pictures will be about Gone with the Wind.
Also I want to have discussions. I don't want to only post pictures and my opinions but of you people's ideas too. I would really want you all to post your ideas and what you think about who or Gone. I want you all to share things and not only have me do that talking.
Also I want to make this kind of a member site. Everyone who comments on this entry will be a member or a part of this site. Once I start updating more and more and this entry is drown out then everybody can comment just on a regular entry saying they want to be a part! Good idea or no?
Anyway, so what do you all say? Want to have a fresh start and continue this site with me. I can't continue it on my own. | | |
| GOT THE WHOLE GONE WITH THE WIND SONG!! It may be a little poor quality but still it's the whole thing!! I'm so happy! :::)))
My tribute to Jean Harlow: www.xanga.com/jeanharlowtribute
I'm going to make more sites soon for: Clark Gable, Vivien Leigh, Spencer Tracy...etc...
Here are some random pictures:
a very rare still of Vivien in her dressing room.
Whenever I look at this picture it makes me want to cry...Rhett (Clark) looks so depressed and sad.
Gone with the Wind magazine.
Please go to my Jean Harlow tribute page...I will have pics and stuff soon on it! Leave comments!
